Celebrate We Did.

2010 has been a GREAT year for The Snyders. We have so much to be thankful for and we have tried to enjoy each moment this year as it flew by waaayyyyyyy to fast. Some of the highlights of the year were Stuart starting a new job, me completing and achieving my National Board Certification, two 10 year high school reunions, lots of fun family trips, our anniversary trip to Charleston, and so many more normal, everyday moments that made this year a memorable one. I also started this blog in February 2010 which has been so much fun and now I have documented our entire year which allows for us to go back an re-live it anytime we want and I am so thankful for that because our little man will be big(ger) before we know it and I love that I have been able to document so much of what he has been up to.

Speaking of what we have been up to, we celebrated the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 this year in Louisville with some of Stuart's friends from high school. My mom and dad came down to stay with our boys so we could enjoy a night out on the town- and that we did. We headed to Louisville as soon as we watched our UK Wildcats beat the Louisville Cardinals on TV. Once we got there we met up with the group at a bar downtown as most of them went to the game and were already in town. After meeting everyone, enjoying some snacks and maybe a few drinks we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.

The evening consisted of a huge dinner buffet where I enjoyed the Sea Bass and Stuart the chicken. While we were finishing our meals the music began and then the waitstaff began dancing around the room with trays of desserts. It was a dessert parade- very fun to watch-kind of like we were on a cruise. The desserts were Stuart's favorite part (of course). I am pretty sure he would have set up camp at the chocolate fountains had I let him. After we had stuffed ourselves silly the band began to play. They were very good and I think the boys enjoyed the skimpy dresses that the ladies were wearing. We danced, chatted, enjoyed some drinks and good company as we waited for the year to come to a close.  It was a fun night and I enjoyed ringing in 2011 with my guy. We stayed up way too late, ate way too much, might have had a little too much to drink, stayed in a hotel suite that might have been bigger than our house, slept in late, and enjoyed a big brunch.  So much fun and just another adventure to add to our list of greats in 2010.

Stuart and Mark ready for action.

Check this guy out!

Stuart was thirsty.

Can't you tell we had a GREAT time.
So now it is 2011. School starts back tomorrow and it is back to reality. I cannot even begin to express how much I have enjoyed this break. Stuart has been home the entire time, we have slept in spent sooooo much time together as a family. I have not made any New Year's resolutions, but I do have a few wishes for 2011. I hope that this year brings us continued joy and here are a few more things on my 2011 to do/wish  list:
  • Become more involved in our church with our giving and service.
  • Add a baby Snyder to our family.(prayers please- this is month 14 of this wish)
  • Potty train Clark.(anyone know a potty training fairy??)
  • Organize and clean out our garage.
  • Begin a good skin care routine. (I mean I am almost 30)
  • Be better about sending birthday and thank you cards to friends and family.
  • Finish Clark's needlepoint belt.
  • Exercise more.
  • Cook dinner at least five  four nights a week.
  • Organize my photos on my computer and BACK THEM UP.
The list could go on and on, but I must find a place to stop. Maybe actually writing these all down and sharing them with you will help motivate me to get them done. As for today, I am going to finish putting away all of the Christmas stuff, go to school and make my plans and copies for the week and grocery shop. Yes- back to reality it is. I am really not sure how well I am going to do when that alarm goes off at 5:30 tomorrow- we shall see!!

Happy 2011!!
