Tomorrow I will be 34 weeks pregnant with the twins. I was not sure they would ever have a room that was near ready for their arrival since tings have been a little crazy around here, but things are coming together! My parents graciously offered to hire someone to paint it which was a HUGE help since when we moved in a few weeks ago this room was two shades of blue and covered in glow in the dark star stickers. The celling was navy blue, the top half of the walls were light blue and the bottom half of the room was white. My dad had the paint mixed to match the bedding at Sherwin Williams and then hired someone to come paint it. It looks like a new room and that gave us the nudge we needed to start putting things together in there. I ordered the bedding from Pottery Barn Kids about 3 months ago and it was on back order until mid August. We had one crib and the rest of the furniture set from Clark's room and we bought one more crib thanks to a generous gift card from a sweet family friend. So for the last week or so I have worked a little each night up there trying to tie it all together, washing clothes and organizing the closet. Last week I had the wall decals cut at our local scrapbook store. I had planned on using my cricut and doing it myself but I am so glad I enlisted the help of a professional- plus she had many more fonts to choose from. I love how they turned out. My mom and dad helped hang them on Sunday- a much better job for them than me. This morning I headed to Target and Babies R Us to gather a few more things. I picked up the hamper, clock and nightlight at BRU and the curtains from Target. I am now pretty satisfied with the overall look of the room. It is waiting on a rocking chair from my mom and dad's house but other than that I think it is nearly done and I really wanted to share some pictures.
Here is a room fit for two!

It will be filled with little sweeties very soon!
I am sure I will add a little more as we go along, but I am enjoying it as of now. I even took a nap in the floor up there the other evening after school!
It looks so calm and cozy!

Looks great Abby, they will be here so soon!
ReplyDeletehey! Thanks for keeping a check on us. I have to admit I haven't had much time to read blogs lately, but good for you for keeping those babies baking!! I haven't posted our birth story yet but it wasnt planned and caught me very off guard.
ReplyDeleteI love the names and the way you did them on the wall. Nursery is cute too.
my only advice right now is start this second doing everything you can to prepare yourself and th big brother that there will be 2 babies in your house soon. Having a child already on top of twins--find your inner superhero and hold it tight. You are going to need it. Decide now how you want to handle company. My front door has been a revolving door since 10 mins after we got home and hasn't stoped. Very very stressful.
I know you must be anxious getting so close and I will have to say I don't know how you are still working. I teach too and was off during summer but could not imagine having to go to work at 30-33 weeks much less 34 and beyond.
I hope everything continues to go well.
Looks great! Harper has the same window treatments!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute! Great job making it gender neutral but adorable for both babies!
