20 week update.

The Snyder Duo: WEEK 20
20 WEEKS: 1 DAY
Maybe by the end of this pregnancy I will have this taking pictures
of myself in the mirror thing down. I just feel sooo silly!

Baby Size: According to my sources the babies are about the size of small cantaloupes. They are about 6.5 inches long and weigh about 10.6 oz. We will find out TOMORROW if this is true.

Weight Loss/Gain: At my last appointment I was +3 lbs. I have been eating this week with no sickness and I have been eating quite a bit so I am guessing it has gone up... We shall see.

Maternity Clothes: A mix. Mostly maternity pants and my much adored gaucho pants and a mix of tops.

Sleep: I sleep pretty well. I am most comfortable on my side, but switch sides a lot during the night. Because I am no longer dehydrated I am back to getting up SEVERAL times during the night to go potty.

Symptoms: I have been feeling very good this week. I have been eating, taking my Zofran and have had lots of energy. Even if this does not last long- it has been nice to have a break from all the sickness. We took a 3 hour car ride to my grandma's on Saturday and it was tough to find a comfortable position for the entire time. I think I was making someone uncomfortable in one position and they let me know it with some jabs to the ribs!

Movement: Yes. I have felt flutters and some distinct movement. On the way to my grandparents' house Stuart and I both got to feel one of them!!  Like I said, one position I was sitting in caused a lot of movement on my right side. You could see and feel it. Stuart was driving and I made him feel too. It was very cool. However, I have not felt much from the other little one so I am SO excited to see them both tomorrow, find out just exactly where they both are hanging out in there and see them moving all around!

Best Moment This Week:
Feeling so much movement! I loved it so much.
We also went to Pottery Barn Kids Outlet this weekend on the way home from my grandma's and I bought a diaper bag! I know that is not that exciting, but I got one that I had been eyeing. I got a Petuina Picklebottom Boxy Backpack and I had been checking them out online and had not convinced myself to spend the money. I need a new one since the one from C is worn out. I knew I wanted a fairly large one and a nice one that would hold up. So after much deliberation I broke down and bought it. It was an extra 25% off and that helped. My friend Tia was the biggest help. I did use my phone a friend option before purchasing it for someone to give me the green light to buy it and she did! She has one and LOVES it and reminded me that it was a good deal and I was carrying TWO babies.  :) THANKS TIA!!!

Food Cravings: This week I have been all about chips! Chips of all kinds. I have also be guzzling the water. The more ice the better. I would love to have a cup of Sonic ice and water in my hands all day long.

What I Miss: I still miss Jazzercise and beer. :) Not that I am a HUGE beer drinker, but we did have a impromptu backyard cookout yesterday at a friends house and it was HOT. Everyone had a nice cold beer. One would have been nice- but I survived! :)

Looking Forward To: TOMORROW AT 3:00!!!!!!
Tomorrow is our big ultrasound. I am very anxious to see these guys. I am excited to find out if they are boys, girls or both! I am excited to learn all I can about them. I have a list of questions and I am surely going to need a box of kleenex. I would appreciate all your prayers that we learn great things about them and that they are both healthy and strong. My biggest concern is that. I just hope they both are thriving and they are looking good! I just cannot wait to see them again!!! :)

Wet & Wild

Today was a good one.
Church, backyard pool time with friends & some sunshine.
Tomorrow I have to work. I will be packing boxes, working on end of the year grades, finishing up my classroom awards, coming up with some sort of plan for the last two days of 3rd grade, and then packing more boxes. I will be inside all day WORKING. So today was nice and I am so thankful for that.
Here are some pics from our wet and wild afternoon!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

2 more days until we get a peek at these babies. SQUEAL!!
Prayers appreciated for healthy babes as we peek at them as they grow.

19 Week Update.

THE SNYDER DUO: WEEK 19

How Far Along: 19 weeks 3 days.

I feel SO SILLY taking these pics in the mirror.
This one is for Madison M. who made fun of my last one for not smiling.

Baby Size: According to my sources the babies are about the size of heirloom tomatoes. About 6 inches each and weighing about 8.5 oz. They sure do look bigger than that in the above picture.

Also I think my belly looks so much bigger this week. Much bigger than it did with Clark at 19 weeks. At 19 weeks with Clark I am pretty sure I was still wearing my regular clothes.

Movement: Yes. I have felt flutters and some distinct movement. No jabbing or kicking just yet, but I know that is coming. I am so wondering what it will be like when they are bigger and kicking me all the time.

Best Moment This Week: Seeing Clark react to the fact that we now have two infant seats. We had the one we used for him in the hall closet and he notices it every now and then, but yesterday Stuart picked up the one we bought on CraigsList. It is identical to the one we had for Clark (which they no longer sell that color) and we got a pretty good deal on it and it is in SUPER condition. So last night we had them out in the living room. Clark thought it was so funny. He carried them around, tried to sit in them and asked: "Momma- are these for your babies?" I just can't wait to see him with the real deal. I know he will be such a WONDERFUL big brother.

Food Cravings: This week I have been loving some Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries & English Muffins. All fresh fruit is high on my list too.
What I Miss: I still miss Jazzercise and this week was our annual dodge ball game during Field Day. We play the teachers versus the 5th graders and this year I did not get to play. It was kind of a bummer- but still fun to watch. Those 5th graders had better watch out- I'll be back next year! :)

Looking Forward To: MAY 31ST!! This is our big ultrasound where we get one hour to just learn all we can about them which will hopefully include the genders. I am pretty very excited about it.
6 MORE DAYS!!!!!

18 Week Update.

THE SNYDER DUO: WEEK 18
How Far Along: 18 weeks 4 days.

Baby Size: According to my sources the babies are about the size of sweet potatoes. About 5.6 inches each and weigh about 6.7 oz. each. Such sweet little potatoes they are.

Weight Loss/Gain: At my last appointment I was +3 lbs. (I did not pay attention yesterday-oops)

Maternity Clothes: A mix. Mostly maternity pants and a mix of tops.

Sleep: I sleep pretty well. I am most comfortable on my side, but switch sides a lot during the night.

Symptoms: Well, I have been really sick this week. On Wednesday I had not kept any food or drink down since Sunday so I called my doctor. They had me come in and of course I did. Once I was there I learned that I was very dehydrated and needed IV fluids. So that is how I spent my afternoon yesterday. Me, these two sweet potatoes and two bags of IV fluids in a dark room. The fluids did make me feel better but I did go home and go right to sleep at about 6:30 and slept until my alarm went off this morning. Today was a little better until about an hour ago- so it looks like I might have been wrong last week when I thought this sick business was coming to a close. BUT- I do know that one day all this sickness will be a distant memory and will all be worth it. I just keep that thought in my head.

Movement: Maybe a little! I did hear good movement yesterday at the doctor along with some super strong heartbeats. I am so wondering what it will be like when they are bigger and kicking me all the time.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing their heartbeats yesterday. Being so sick worries me and just hearing their little hearts made my heart so happy.

Food Cravings: Food. No thanks. Not much sounds good right about now. The pomegranate popsicle I just ate was pretty good though.

What I Miss: I do miss Jazzercise and clean toilets! :)

Looking Forward To: MAY 31ST!! This is our big ultrasound where we get one hour to just learn all we can about them which will hopefully include the genders. I am pretty very excited about it.

Keepin' It Real.

I am EXHAUSTED.
I am NOT COMPLAINING.
I know I am blessed beyond measure and I thank GOD everyday for it all- however today was a rough one. I am kind of in the rambling mood and I feel completely sorry for my friend Mindy and our sitter Mrs. Bonnie because they got the brunt of my pity party today and for that I apologize. I love you both for ALWAYS listening. So just in case you want to listen too- here goes.

Here are a few things on my mind:

1. Today was Election Day and the kiddos did not have to come to school- HOWEVER the teachers did have to report and we spent the day deconstructing standards. Let me tell you that was FUN TIMES.

2. I have recently lost a few followers and I know that MANY of you are teachers and are hoping for more teacher related posts, but we have 8 days of school left and although I am going to miss my kiddos terribly I am SOOOO ready for summer and the only school related things I can think about are packing up my room and mentally preparing for next year.

3. O YEAH- Next year. I found out on Sunday night that I will be teaching 5th grade next year. 5TH GRADE. I am not really sure what to expect- 5th grade is not something I NEVER wanted to do- at the beginning of this year I requested to be considered for 1st grade (mostly because I LOVE reading all of your adorable 1st grade blogs and want to be like you!) HOWEVER- once I learned that I was expecting twins I quickly retracted that request. 1st grade is such a HUGE learning curve and I am not sure that I would be able to put the time and energy in those little ones with three little ones of my own. SOOOO 5th grade it is.

5th Grade PROS:
  • I will be taking over the position of the retiring teacher who will be doing my long term sub. She is retiring this year and will be coming back to take over for me once I have these babies. How convenient is that? (Also she is the lovely lady I student taught with and someone I feel 100% comfortable leaving my kiddos with)
  • I have already had many of the upcoming 5th graders when they were in 3rd grade. Which will make relationship building much easier as I will be out having babies.
  • I will be teaching English/Language Arts. So I will be planning ONE lesson and doing it three times a day. This will be nice with two babies and a toddler at home. - I HOPE.
  • I LOVE the 5th grade team. One of my best friends is the Social Studies teacher and the math teacher is so much fun and outstanding.
  • 5th grade takes a week long trip to Washington D.C. that I am so excited to be part of!
  • I am ready for a change.
  • I am sure there are PLENTY more.
5th Grade CONS:
  • I have to move rooms.
  • I have a HUGE closet and will be moving to a room with NO closet. I have become so accustomed to the closet- HOW WILL I SURVIVE?
  • 5th graders are BIG & SMELLY. Will the love me? Will they color me pictures? Will they give me hugs? Will they tell me I look pretty on days when I have dirty hair and wrinkled clothes? That part makes me a little nervous.
  • A LOT more grading and scores.
  • I am sure there are PLENTY more.
Overall, I am very excited about the change and hope to get everything moved, set up and ready but all while carrying two babies and chasing another.  I know that people do it all the time- BUT CAN I??

4. (TMI alert) I have not kept ANYTHING down in 3 days. I am exhausted and so tired of throwing up. I love these sweet babies sooooooo much but I am so over throwing up. I am thinking that I am so exhausted because the babies are getting NO FOOD and are draining my body of all it has to offer which is wearing this momma out. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow. I know it is bad when Clark yells at me this morning "Momma- stop frowing up in my bathroom". I am so sorry buddy! So sorry. Believe me.

5. It was like 45 degrees today. IT IS MAY. 45 degrees REALLY?!?!

6. 14 MORE DAYS UNTIL I GET TO SEE THESE BABIES. I have my BIG ultrasound on the 31st and I am over the moon excited to get a glimpse of the duo and hopefully they will be big, strong and healthy and show us their genders. 14 more days. 14 more days. 14 more days. Hopefully seeing them I will forget about how badly I have felt recently.

7. NEW GLEE TONIGHT. YAY!!

8. This guy is mine.

9. So is this guy:

10. And they both love me no matter how bad I feel, how much I throw up, what grade I teach or how long the day is and for that I am thankful. VERY THANKFUL.

If you read this whole post bless your heart! I just needed to ramble, get it out and now it is time for GLEE followed by bedtime. I hope you have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY- thanks for listening.

17 Week Update

I did not take many pictures or journal at all while I was pregnant with Clark so I thought I would try to keep up better this time around. Plus I am very curious just how big I am going to get and how different it is going to be this time so I am going to try to do a weekly update. This blog is a journal for me and I love looking back at old posts to remember our little life, so I do not expect all of you to read the weekly updates- but if you would like to follow me along this journey please do!

THE SNYDER DUO: WEEK 17
How Far Along: 17 weeks 3 days.

Baby Size: According to all my apps the babies are about the size of ONIONS (about 5 inches each)

Weight Loss/Gain: At my last appointment I was +3 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: A mix. Mostly maternity pants and a mix of tops. Lots of dresses.

Sleep: I sleep pretty well. I am most comfortable on my side, but switch sides a lot during the night.

Symptoms: Today is DAY 4 with NO Zofran. I am hoping that the all day sickness I have been having is coming to a close.  I was sick 4-5 times a day but the Zofran helped me so much. I was sick last night at the movies, but am hoping it was a fluke!

Movement: Not yet. I am very much looking forward to it and wonder if I will be able to know which one is which when they move around!

Best Moment This Week: Clark talking to my belly. He said "Hi babies! Are you growing?". It was so cute. He then told me that they were growing big and strong and that when they came out we were going to have to give them some milk. :)

Food Cravings:  I have had much more of an appetite this week due to the fact that I have not been so sick. I still stick to pretty bland foods like PB&J, Cheese & Crackers, and Bagels. However I did request fried rice and an egg roll out of the blue on Saturday so Chinese take out it was!

What I Miss: I do miss Jazzercise and yesterday after day 8 of state testing I really could have used a beer!

Looking Forward To: MAY 31ST!! This is our big ultrasound where we get one hour to just learn all we can about them which will hopefully include the genders. I am pretty very excited about it.

Well there you have it. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with it!
Happy Wednesday!

My Mother's Day.

This weekend was a big one around here as we celebrated The Derby and Mother's Day. Saturday we had a great afternoon with friends watching The Kentucky Derby. However, my picks; Twinspired & Twice The Appeal (loved those twin themed names!) did not win me big bucks it was a great day.

Today we made a short trip to Dayton OH, to eat lunch with my family. Yes, Dayton. My brother who lives at Martha's Vineyard was in a wedding in Dayton this weekend and since we have not seen him since Christmas we were very excited to make the trip. My mom and dad came and they stopped and picked up my grandma too. So it was a wonderful day with most of the important people in my life. I was a happy girl. We enjoyed a long wait and a long lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and ate wayyyyy too much. (which was kind of exciting for me because this was my second Zofran free day and I have not been sick once! Fingers crossed that the sickness part of this pregnancy may be coming to a close.)  The ride back and fourth was a nice way to spend some time with my boys. I really do love them so much and might have gotten a little emotional on the ride home just realizing how big and how smart my little guy is getting. I do love being his momma and I am so thankful that I was chosen to do so. Before I start crying again, here are some pictures from our day.

The best family photo we could manage.

A little bubble blowing to keep C entertained while we waited.

Me and my little bro.
We LOVE you Lance.

Me and Lance with our Grandma Carolyn.

Uncle Lance loves him some Clark.

I could not love these women any more.
My momma and my grandma.

Me and Grandma C.
LOVE HER.
