Tuesday was our 20 week appointment at 3:00. It was also the second to last day of school so needless to say the day was super busy and hectic. It all started out with me setting the house alarm off at 6:30 by breaking a glass and waking the boys up- what a LOVELY start to the day right? The day flew by and I was so anxious to see my sweet babies. I was so busy however, that I did not have time to sit down and think much about it until I got in the car after school to drive to the doctor. Once I was in the car I was an emotional wreck! I could not control the tears. I cried the entire way there and while I sat in the parking lot waiting for Stuart to get there. I think the whole idea of knowing more about them, hoping that they were both okay, knowing that this one ultrasound would dramatically change our lives forever all hit me at once. I was finally able to gain composure and we went in. We were taken straight back and it all began.
As soon as she began to scan my heart was racing. I just wanted with everything in me for them to both be healthy. HONESTLY. I was so worried about their health. Not sure if my concern was heightened because there are TWO in there or what but as soon as I saw them both moving around I began to calm down. She then asked us if we wanted to know the genders and we both very enthusiastically said YES PLEASE. So the hunt was on. The hunt did not last long as BABY B was very cooperative with legs spread and we all knew in an instant that BABY B is a BOY!!!
Another sweet boy!! He seemed very laid back and easy going and was quite the little charmer like his big brother. I learned that he is the one that I have been feeling the most lately as he is the one laying horizontally at the very top. I feel him most when I sit down and take up some of his space! I just loved seeing him on the screen moving around, sucking his thumb and pushing the foot of the other little one out of his face! After we learned his secret, we continued on the hunt. BABY A was not quite as cooperative as brother. BABY A was lying in a much more difficult position and it took a little while longer to figure out. However, after a little while (what seemed like eternity) we learned the news that BABY A is a GIRL!!!
Let's just say I was a sweaty mess of smiles and tears. We were so thrilled with the news and it only got better. After learning genders we went back to each baby to learn more about them. She spent about a half an hour on each baby doing all the scans and measurements and they both looked great!! It was amazing to watch. She apologized a few times for it taking so long and I laughed and told he I would stay all day and watch them- TAKE YOUR TIME. Yes, much of the time I did not know what I was looking at until she typed it on the screen. Bladders, cords, fluids and such- but they all looked great. She checked their little hearts and all the chambers, she measured their little heads and legs and all that good stuff and she kept using words like GREAT, GOOD, and RIGHT ON TRACK. My heart just swelled each time something else was good news. We learned that BABY BOY B was about 11 oz and BABY GIRL A was about 10oz. We learned that BABY BOY has big feet like his daddy and BABY GIRL is wild like her momma! My prayer is that the both just continue to grow and develop and we continue to hear those words each time.
After the ultrasound we saw the doctor and he agreed that everything was looking good. My levels were good, my blood pressure was good and the visit with him was quick. We go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound and checkup. But until then I am on the hunt for names and nursery ideas! GOT ANY?? If so I would love to hear em'. I am looking for a gender neutral nursery with a pattern not a theme and I am totally in love with the Chevron pattern right now. So if you have any ideas let me know! O- and this weekend there are some big yard sales and I am also on the lookout for SOMETHING girly. I will let you know how that goes.
So at the Snyder house tonight we are ever so thankful and amazed at the blessings of two healthy babies. So in love with our little BOY and GIRL and our little wild man who all continue to grow and amaze us each day! Thanks be to God!
Yay for *all* of you, Snyder family!!!!! Glad everyone is happy and healthy. Can't wait to meet the little beans!

ReplyDeleteAs for names, I of course love Kate or Claire for a girl :)
I LOVE talking about baby names?
Do you have middle names picked out yet? Do you have a short list for first names? Do you want the twins to have the same first initial?
YAY! I am so excited for ya'll!

ReplyDeleteSO excited for y'all!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I'm so happy for you to have a little boy and a little girl in there :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen some super cute nurseries that are sage green with multicolor polka dots! I also like REALLY light blue (almost a gray blue) on the walls and polka dots. Fabric stores often have a "boy" version and a "girl" version of the same pattern...it could be fun to do something with those!
CONGRATULATIONS! this is amazing! i can only imagine how elated you are.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What great news!
