As Summer 2010 draws to a close we have been working very hard to enjoy every minute of it. I have been working a whole lot at school on my classroom and C has had a lot of daddy time lately, but I have tired to soak up every minute of our last few days of summer break. I know that this is my last summer with a 2 year old and I am trying to drink it all in. He has learned and done so many new things this summer and I have been right there to experience it all. He keeps us laughing at home with his new words, phrases, demands and stories. I have taken thousands of pictures trying to capture his sweetness, humor and adorable smile, because I don't want to ever forget this time in our lives.
Because school starts next week, and this summer will be ending soon we decided we needed one last outing. So, on Friday we took a trip to a city pool in Lexington that we have visited several other times this summer with our friends Ginny & Jack. The boys have a blast in the giant baby pool and Ginny and I LOVE the fact that we do not know one other person there. (This makes bathing suit wearing much easier!ha!) We stay for about 3 hours. During that 3 hours, C probably went up and down the frog slide 300 times & squealed with delight about 3,000 times. I chased him around, enjoyed the sun and thought about nothing else other than living in the moment. There were a few tears as the whistle blew for breaks and mandatory water checks. There were plenty of fruit snacks eaten, plenty of apple juice drank, a bit of sunscreen applied. But best of all it was a good time with cute little boys who will soon be too cool to hang out with their mommas. I cannot put into words how much fun I have had this summer. I love this 2 year old so much!!
