WAY RANDOM.

Today was a wild one and is just the beginning of a super busy week that involves some kind of meeting or event EVERY NIGHT after work unless we really do get all of this snow they are talking about.
I am worn out and of course football is on our T.V. Yes- we only have ONE T.V. We made the decision to get rid of the T.V. in our bedroom this summer because it was old and we NEVER used it, but nights like this when I am missing Pretty Little Liars & The Bachelor because of football, I do miss it. Thank goodness for DVR. Because I am not watching football, too tired to read, and not willing to give in and go to bed at 9:30 so I thought I would blog. This may be the most random post yet so bear with me.

MONDAY NIGHT RAMBLINGS:
  • We love some SEC around the Snyder house so I am pretty sure the Mr. is cheering for Auburn tonight, but I am lovin' the dayglo socks that the Oregon Ducks are sporting! nice.

  • TMI ALERT!!!
Today is day 26 for me. This is month 14 of attempting to make our family of 3 a family of 4. Every month at this time I become nervous. I try not to think about it. I try not to let every little "sign" get me excited at the possibility that I "might be" just to be let down again. I have been to the doctor, I have taken my temperature, I have peed on sticks of all kinds, and this month I even took medicine to try to help things out. So now I wait. I keep myself busy, I try not to think about it and I avoid going to the bathroom because I don't want to find out that it is over and that it all begins again. I also feel so bad about worrying about it because we have a beautiful family- much more than we deserve. We have been blessed with one healthy child, which is what many people dream of, but I am longing to be a mother again. I want my baby boy to grow up with siblings. I love being a mommy and I want to share this life with more children and each month that that does not happen honestly breaks my heart. I feel like I have more love to give and that I will get to do it all again, but I am not sure when it is going to happen. I know it is all part of a plan much greater than mine, I just hope that I have made my wishes known. I am not sure how to even begin to ask for more than we already have without sounding ungrateful or greedy. We are truly blessed beyond measure and for that I am forever grateful, but I just think there is more in store for us and I hope that more children are in our future and that I keep in good spirits as we wait for our good news that will come in HIS time. Until then, I will keep tracking, waiting, praying, preparing, giving thanks and loving all that I have been given.

  • It is now 10:30 pm. and there is still no snow. WE MIGHT HAVE SCHOOL AFTER ALL.

  • Yesterday we got to shower my dear friend Chandra with gifts for her soon to be born baby girl!! Clark came along for the ride because he saw the present in the car and asked who it was for. I told him baby Rosie and from there he was bound and determined to go to "Rosie's party". Well, to Rosie's party he went. He might have drug Legos all over the place, eaten nearly all of the strawberries from the adorable fruit arrangement, caught his plate on fire on the candle at our table (yes- that happened), colored Mickey pictures for all the ladies, and tried with all he had to open every gift. I am pretty sure after yesterday Chandra is sooooooo glad she is having a girl. ha! Besides chasing him everywhere, it was great to see everyone and catch up, all the while celebrating this beautiful child whom we all can't wait to meet.

    The proud parents to be!
    Group photo shot.
    Don't I have cute friends??
It is now nearly 11:00 and I am headed to bed. I am sure I will check the weather report before I fall asleep and I will not let my feet hit the floor in the morning with out checking my phone for the NO SCHOOL text from my friends at LEX18 first.
Told ya' it was going to be random!
    Happy Monday!!

We Explored.

Today we woke up to snow- AGAIN. I don't think the weather got the memo that it is not supposed to snow on SATURDAY- only on school days. I knew it was going to snow, but when I woke up it looked like we were trapped in a snow globe. There were big flakes flying right at the window and I was a little surprised. But we did not let the snow ruin our big Saturday plans. Stuart headed to work this morning at 8:15 and Clark and I slept in! This was only after waking up at 7:30 to Stuart's alarm and not seeing Clark on the monitor. So Stuart went into his room to find him sound asleep on the floor and Mickey Mouse tucked in the bed. He moved him to the bed and C did not wake. He slept until 9:45am!! This momma got to sleep in and it was nice considering I taught a full week this week. I have not taught a full week in ages! I was EXHAUSTED.

Once we finally awoke and showered we headed to Lexington to The Explorium. The Explorium is the children's museum. I have taken my classes there before, but never Clark and I was looking forward to it. Today they were offering 1/2 off admission for anyone that lives in our county! SCORE. We both got in for $7.00. We went with our friends Ginny & Jack and the boys had a great time & so did the mommas! These boys were everywhere and it really was so much fun to watch them go and do. Clark loved the horses, the bubbles and anything with water. Jack was lovin' the ride on tractor!  They had a scavenger hunt, different tables set up with crafts and exhibits, along with all of the usual fun children's museum type things. It was fun times and has now been added to the birthday party spot idea list! We played for a few hours and then headed across the street for lunch! It was a fun way to spend the snowy day.

Check out this snowman.
Yes- it might be going in a frame...

Notice- the smocks are still hanging on the wall...

What do you think? Rocket Scientist in training??

Now Clark is napping, Stuart is off somewhere with his buddies watching The Cats and I am blogging and doing laundry- oh and Barney, he is asleep on the couch.  We had a great morning and have no plans tonight, so a quiet night at home it is! It will be much needed after this long week.

Did you do any exploring today?

Happy Saturday.

HELP!

I need advice. I need your help.

This week C has done a lot of sitting on this...

 And this...

We have tried bribing with these...

Wearing these...

I would LOVE to hear what worked for you or what I need to do. My guy hates to be naked and gets worked up if his pants don't match, let alone not wearing any- so leave those tips out! ha. He is getting too big to hoist up onto the changing table in public and we are almost in the biggest size of diapers. Something must be done and I am open to suggestions. ANYTHING.

(I am in no way trying to rush him. I know he is only a little guy and he will most likely have it mastered before kindergarten- but tonight was a rough one and I am open to new ideas.)

Oh & I am soooooooo over buying these.

TOP 2 TUESDAY.

I have recently found a new blog that I adore. Taylor's blog is super cute and I am hooked. (Imagine that! Me, hooked to ANOTHER blog!) She is hosting TOP 2 TUESDAY and the topic is YOUR TOP 2 FAVORITE ITEMS FROM 2010. I thought it would be fun to play along.  So here goes.

#1. MY iPhone 4.
I know, I know it sounds pathetic, but I am really not sure what I did without it. I mean I read all of your blogs on it during my lunch, I email, order online, book reservations, SET MY DVR( this is VITAL), read my Nook books, take pictures and video of my sweet boy, waste wayyyyyy too much time on Facebook, and today it was super handy as I was at the grocery store with a toddler and NO LIST. I was able to use one of my handy dandy apps to look up recipes for the week and make sure I had all the ingredients. How could I not love it??

#2. Diet Cherry 7-UP.
HA! I have always been a Diet Coke fan- ALWAYS. I grew up on it and there is not much else I knew. However, this year I have developed quite the relationship with the pink, tasty goodness in a can. It is a must on our shopping list and it makes me so happy!

Very close runners up were:
  • My laptop. (a gift from Stuart for Christmas last year)
  • BLOGGER. I began this blog in February of 2010- and I am hooked.
  • Dry Shampoo (this obsession began from reading all about it on your blogs.)
It was very hard to pick just 2! I am in love with lots of things, but these two are a must have!!
I hope you all are having a good week. I have now taught 2 days in a row! I have not done that in....well, I can't even remember how long due to having a student teacher, snow days and Christmas Break. I have been early to work each day this week and I am hoping the week continues to go so well. I might hit the wall in about 20 minutes and head to bed, but for now I am going to go read my new Nook Book, while Stuart watches football.

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Celebrate We Did.

2010 has been a GREAT year for The Snyders. We have so much to be thankful for and we have tried to enjoy each moment this year as it flew by waaayyyyyyy to fast. Some of the highlights of the year were Stuart starting a new job, me completing and achieving my National Board Certification, two 10 year high school reunions, lots of fun family trips, our anniversary trip to Charleston, and so many more normal, everyday moments that made this year a memorable one. I also started this blog in February 2010 which has been so much fun and now I have documented our entire year which allows for us to go back an re-live it anytime we want and I am so thankful for that because our little man will be big(ger) before we know it and I love that I have been able to document so much of what he has been up to.

Speaking of what we have been up to, we celebrated the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 this year in Louisville with some of Stuart's friends from high school. My mom and dad came down to stay with our boys so we could enjoy a night out on the town- and that we did. We headed to Louisville as soon as we watched our UK Wildcats beat the Louisville Cardinals on TV. Once we got there we met up with the group at a bar downtown as most of them went to the game and were already in town. After meeting everyone, enjoying some snacks and maybe a few drinks we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.

The evening consisted of a huge dinner buffet where I enjoyed the Sea Bass and Stuart the chicken. While we were finishing our meals the music began and then the waitstaff began dancing around the room with trays of desserts. It was a dessert parade- very fun to watch-kind of like we were on a cruise. The desserts were Stuart's favorite part (of course). I am pretty sure he would have set up camp at the chocolate fountains had I let him. After we had stuffed ourselves silly the band began to play. They were very good and I think the boys enjoyed the skimpy dresses that the ladies were wearing. We danced, chatted, enjoyed some drinks and good company as we waited for the year to come to a close.  It was a fun night and I enjoyed ringing in 2011 with my guy. We stayed up way too late, ate way too much, might have had a little too much to drink, stayed in a hotel suite that might have been bigger than our house, slept in late, and enjoyed a big brunch.  So much fun and just another adventure to add to our list of greats in 2010.

Stuart and Mark ready for action.

Check this guy out!

The Galvins
Thanks for the invite guys. We had a GREAT time.

These guys were quite entertaining.

The whole group ready to ring in 2011.

The band that sang us into 2011.
This was dress #3 for these ladies.
Stuart was thirsty.

Can't you tell we had a GREAT time.
So now it is 2011. School starts back tomorrow and it is back to reality. I cannot even begin to express how much I have enjoyed this break. Stuart has been home the entire time, we have slept in spent sooooo much time together as a family. I have not made any New Year's resolutions, but I do have a few wishes for 2011. I hope that this year brings us continued joy and here are a few more things on my 2011 to do/wish  list:
  • Become more involved in our church with our giving and service.
  • Add a baby Snyder to our family.(prayers please- this is month 14 of this wish)
  • Potty train Clark.(anyone know a potty training fairy??)
  • Organize and clean out our garage.
  • Begin a good skin care routine. (I mean I am almost 30)
  • Be better about sending birthday and thank you cards to friends and family.
  • Finish Clark's needlepoint belt.
  • Exercise more.
  • Cook dinner at least five  four nights a week.
  • Organize my photos on my computer and BACK THEM UP.
The list could go on and on, but I must find a place to stop. Maybe actually writing these all down and sharing them with you will help motivate me to get them done. As for today, I am going to finish putting away all of the Christmas stuff, go to school and make my plans and copies for the week and grocery shop. Yes- back to reality it is. I am really not sure how well I am going to do when that alarm goes off at 5:30 tomorrow- we shall see!!

Happy 2011!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Well friends, this is my last WILW of 2010. I love playing along with Jamie. Head over HERE to read what other people are loving after you read my list of course!ha!

I AM LOVING  that neither Stuart or I have to work this week and we have done a whole lot of sleeping in, reading books, and playing trains with our little guy. When I say sleeping in I mean it. Today and yesterday I was the first one up at 9:45. Those boys can sleep!

I AM LOVING that we have NYE date night plans. We are headed to Louisville with some of Stuart's friends from high school for a night of dinner, dancing and a super nice hotel. I did purchase the dress pictured below to wear, but I am concerned that it will still fit after all of the Christmas goodies I have been eating lately!

I AM LOVING  my new NOOK. I have downloaded my first two books. I am reading Water For Elephants first because it was only $5.00 on BN, and second because I have heard good things about it. I am 150 pages in and loving it.

I AM LOVING that Stuart and I had a great time last night watching our Kentucky Wildcats win. It was so much fun to go eat and go to the game-just the two of us. LOVE THAT GUY.

I AM LOVING  that my summertime guilty pleasure is coming back this next week. I have mentioned before that I LOVE the show Pretty Little Liars and it is back! I can't wait to see what is happening with all of the teen, texting drama! ha!

I AM LOVING that tonight we went to the Cincinnati Zoo to see the lights (will post more later) with some dear friends and it was magical! Something about the zoo, Christmas lights and two cute 2 year olds was such a perfect evening. It was sooooo crowded, so cold, but so much fun!

I must stop this list now and get back to my NookBook, I am loving it that much!
